Initially the plan was to use the original body.

With that plan we set up the truck in the sand blasting shed.

It was now clear the body was beyond repair.  Although a new body was not available (at that time) all new panels were so the initial plan changed to "build a new body"  

The sand blasting exposed a history of much abuse and very poor quality repair work. 

This is the chassis as it was received from our customer. 

Step one is to ensure the frame is level.

After leveling we fit the floor with new body mounts.

With the floor in place we may now build around it.

Unfortunatly, most of these panels were not going to fit without some modifications. 

There are dozens of individual panels to make up this body which our metal department must bring together like a well fitted glove. Unfortunately, too often panels are not up to needed standards for desired fitment and quality. This requires the skills and knowledge of our experienced craftsmen/team.

The gaps are not acceptable and they are out of adjustment. As needed carefull cutting and welding will make this correct.

The majority of panels are installed and additional work is needed for final fit and gapping.

As the old expression goes----Good from afar but far from good!
