The body needs modifications. 

This hot rod build is one of our new major projects. Our customer wants a long list of one of a kind touches. We are mocking up the body and planning changes to the wheel openings. This is a totally personalized build.

Eric Brockmeyer works with our customer and Joey to produce this rendering. The paint color has not been firmed up yet. 

At this stage the engine and transmission get mocked up.

The wiring work begins. There are many componemts to be considered for the over all design and layout to make it all work as intented.

The running board supports are installed. 

Hydraulic pump- work includes building a system that permits the car to be lifted two inches. With the flip of a switch there is increased ground clearance. 

The body did not come with any window regulators, tracks, door latches or safety pins that were worth using so we designed and built what was needed.

Like many items for this build the shifter base is built from scratch

Built from scratch-plan-design and build.

Wiring expertise is certainly needed with this build. Wiring will be very tidy when finished.

The wiring process of this very major build cannot be underestimated. The challenges and creativity lend to this being a unique build as there is no off the shelf wiring assemblies etc. 

This build requires much forthought for creating, buidling and implementing design ideas held well in advance of getting to this point. 

This picture shows the results of a planning, designing, and hand fabricating. Pieces includes window frames (power windows), firewall, rear firewall with back brace, and seat the frames.

The body requierd much work to get the lines and shape perfect meant reworking and rebuidling much of this fiberglass body. The current level of workmanship was needed. 

The underside of teh body also received mcuh work/attention. 

And of course, the body work on all the panels.

The prep area is large enough to lay out these large panels and efficiently work on them.

Teamwork is a driving force in this shop and is needed for most builds/projects at Joey's Place. 

The body is sprayed in a high build polyester prime. 

The body is mocked up for block sanding the high build polyester primer.

Block sanding using 180-240-320-400-500 grits.

The body/panels go in and out of the booth various times throughout the prepping and painting procedures. Here the body is in for the final primer application.

Body is primed. 

The framed has been prepped and sealed and ready for primer. This work includes filler work to all welds and imperfections. 

The frame is painted, and clear coated with a matt (flattening) agent.

The body is paint with House Of Kolor Blue custom mix

This is one of the largest builds ever done at Joey's Place. 

IIt is easy to see the needed attention to detail required for this intricate and complicated wiring system.
