This 2021 Ford Bronco was dropped off for the install of an aftermarket wide body kit. This couple wants to personnalize their truck.

The new aftermarket panels seem good (as they sit on the floor).

What was sold to our customer as a quaility easy to install kit did not live up to the sales pitch.

We begin mocking up and test fitting. 

As work progressed there are many clearly visible concerns of panel fitment. They are not fitting like the original panels.

This is an excessive gap between the fender and the hood.

This gap is certainly not acceptable. 

Many aftermarket kits fall short on supplying inner sheilds to extend inner fenders to prevent the elements rain/dust/snow snow from entering.

The new outer panels do not line up to the inners (another short coming to over come).

We added fiberglass to both edges of the hood to for proper gapping to both fenders.

More fiberglass work to widen the inner fender for it to mate with the new widend fenders.

We did fiberglass work to modify the fender lip so there was enough material to hold the inner panel.

To achieve an OEM fit every panel needed some additional work such as with the valance to the fender.

The rear panel did have cut out for the gas cap yet it did not have tabs for inner mounting so we built fiberglass tabs.

While there were tabs to clip the front grill they were paper thin and needed to be reinforced with more fiberglass.

Just about every tab was poorly built and required addititional fiberglass for needed strength.

The manufacturer provisions for mounting the grill were questionable so we took we disected the mounting bracket from the original fenders then bonded them to the new after market fenders.

This wide body kit did not come with any previsions to widen the inner wheel house. As with the front fenders we fabricated a filler panel to keep the elements from going into the interior.

Interested side note--when we called the manifacturer of this kit they told us they never thought of closing this off.

We are in the fine tuning stage to get the edges and crowns like it would be with OEM panels.

The panels are set up in both booths for application of the high build primer.

The panels are hung in the booth for application of laying down the high build primer.

We now have all the prep work done. This includes the application of the high build primer on the aftermarket panels. They are properly installed for block sanding.

The first booth is set up for paint (fortunate to have both booths available).

With a color change every colored part needs to be prepped, set up in the booth and put through the paint procedures.

The truck skeleton needs to be fully masked and painted for the new color.

The paint work is well under way for the inner jambs. We really hope for positive feedback.

Since this is the wife's driver she worked with us to narrow down her chosen color and we really want her to love it.

The panel and teh boy are painted seperately which eliminated masking lines.
